Cash-strapped Air India looking at pay cuts Monday, Jun 22 2009 

NDTV has learnt that the Air India is weighing measures to reduce its employee cost by 16 per cent. This will help the airline to cut its Rs 3,000 crore wage bill by Rs 500 crore. The cost reduction measures could include pay cuts, and rejig of incentives and flying allowances. A committee will submit the cost reduction plan by July 15. Air India has approached the government for infusion of funds. Cash-strapped Air India has delayed paying the salary to its staff.

Shootout in Mumbai Airport Monday, May 25 2009 

Three armed men looted gold from Mumbai Airport Cargo Complex injuring an Air India employee on Monday (May 25). The three men drove their car in to Cargo complex. Four packets containing 100 kg of gold and silver coins were looted on Monday by four armed men from Air India cargo terminal at Mumbai Airport. A security guard injured in the incident has been rushed to a nearby hospital, Mumbai police said.Further details are awaited.
